History and description
In the years 1688/1689 the first iron hammer was put into operation in Ober-Ramstadt . The former hammer mill is a closed, rectangular courtyard. The two-storey main building is a half-timbered building with a beaver-tailed hipped roof with dormers . Today's mill system largely comes from the replacement building erected in 1817. A functioning mill wheel is still there.
Monument protection
In its structure and the shape of the buildings, the mill system still clearly shows the mill character. For architectural, industrial history, urban history, technical history and economic history reasons, the building is a listed building .
