Johannes Marcellus Maria (Han) Polman (born January 16, 1963 in Ootmarsum ) is a Dutch politician of the D66 party . He is the current commissioner for the king of the province of Zeeland .

Life

Polman studied public administration at the University of Twente and worked for the Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations and the municipality of Vlaardingen .

His political career began in 1994 when he was elected to the local council of The Hague . In 2001 he became mayor of the municipality of Noordwijkerhout (formerly since 2019) and in 2005 mayor of the municipality of Bergen op Zoom .

Since March 1, 2013 he has been Commissioner of the King of the Province of Zeeland, succeeding Karla Peijs .

Han Polman is married and has four children.
