Handball Oberliga Sachsen 2008/09

The Handball Oberliga Sachsen is the fourth highest division in German men's and women's handball. The winner of the season will be promoted to the Regionalliga Süd . The two relegated teams are integrated into the association league. 14 teams play for the Saxony Championship and for promotion to the third-class regional league. The leader of the table after the 26th matchday is automatically Saxony champion 2009. In the men's category, SV Koweg Görlitz and LRC Central Saxony rose from the association league to the top division. In the 2008/09 season there was no Saxon relegated from the regional league. The men's Sachsenmeister was the SG LVB Leipzig .
