HSV Glauchau
The handball sports club Glauchau e. V. was a handball club from Glauchau in Saxony . The club was founded in 1995 and merged in 2013 with the Saxon handball club Meerane to form HC Glauchau / Meerane .
The club was known nationwide primarily for its first men's team, which played for several years in the handball league of Saxony and twice took part in the main round of the DHB Cup . In the 2002/03 season she reached the second round with a 24:11 win over SG Waldfischbach , where she was defeated by Bundesliga club TUSEM Essen at 14:43. In the following 2003/04 season , a 32:24 victory over HSG Neudorf / Döbeln also reached the second round, in which they lost to the second division team SG Willstätt / Schutterwald at 14:30 and were eliminated.
In the upper league season 2004/05 , the HSV Sachsenmeister and rose to the handball regional league , from which he was relegated in 2006 . After the team could not qualify for the newly founded handball upper league Mitteldeutschland in 2010 , it played in the Sachsenliga. In 2012 he was promoted to the top division.
