The Handley Page HP33 Hinaidi was a twin-engine British night bomber produced by the British manufacturer Handley Page Aircraft Company from the late 1920s.
History and construction
The Hinaidi was a further development of the night bomber HP24 Hyderabad from 1923. The prototype of the Hinaidi was a conversion of the Hyderabad with the RAF serial number J7745 from the first production lot. The first flight of the conversion, which received the Gnome Rhône Jupiter IX radial engines produced in France, took place on March 26, 1927. In September 1928 the Hinaidi Mk. I reached No. 99 Squadron of the Royal Air Force .
In addition to the prototype, two new Hinaidi were built and seven Hyderabad were converted. In 1929 it was further developed as the HP36 Hinaidi Mk II, which was designed as an all-metal aircraft. 33 machines of this variant were made. The HP35 Clive, which was used as a troop transport , was derived from the Hinaidi . The Hinaidi Mk II came to the Afghan Northwest Province , and the Clive Mk II was used in Lahore . The last Hinaidis of the Special Reserve Squadrons Nos 10 and 503 were retired in October 1935.
