Hank Reinhardt

Julius Henry Reinhardt (born January 18, 1934 in Atlanta , † October 30, 2007 in Athens ) was an American weapons collector and expert on medieval edged weapons .

Life

Reinhardt has been interested in swords and knives since early childhood. In the 1950s he was stationed in Europe while serving in the United States Army , which allowed him to study exhibits in museums there. In the 1980s he founded the successful company Museum Replicas Ltd with Bill Adams . The company made faithful replicas of medieval weapons. Reinhardt tested these weapons intensively and was able to dispel some popular myths.

Reinhardt published articles in Blade magazine , produced two documentaries and appeared in productions on the History and Discovery Channel . Two of his books were published posthumously .

Hank Reinhardt was married to the science fiction writer Toni Weisskopf .
