Hanna Ahrens

Hanna Ahrens (born September 6, 1938 in Heiligenhafen ) is a German, Protestant pastor and writer.

Life

Hanna Ahrens studied German , philosophy and Protestant theology in Kiel , Zurich , Meschede , Tübingen and Göttingen . During her studies, she met her future husband in 1963, with whom she worked for seven years in Goroka , Papua New Guinea, in the areas of women and community, hospital and prison chaplaincy, after completing her vicariate . There she was ordained a pastor in 1975. Since returning to Hamburg, she has published over 40 books. Their everyday stories are about happiness and confidence. The works sold had a circulation of over 750,000 copies in Germany alone by 2007.

Ahrens is a speaker at breakfast meetings for women, rural women and community events. For more than twenty years she accompanied cruises as a ship pastor. She has been married to Theodor Ahrens , Professor of Mission Studies , since 1965 . The couple has four children and lives in Hamburg-Schnelsen .
