Hanna Ballhaus

Hanna Ballhaus (* 1982  in Göttingen ) is a German basketball trainer .

career

Ballhaus grew up in Göttingen and began her coaching career there. In the 2008/09 season she looked after the women of the BG Rotenburg / Scheeßel (then 2nd regional league), between 2009 and 2011 she was head coach of the second division women from Osnabrücker SC . In 2010, under Ballhaus' leadership, the OSC won the runner-up in the 2nd Bundesliga North and in 2011 the championship title. Following the success, the club decided to separate from Ballhaus, because an experienced coach should be hired for the first division.

In the 2011/12 season she worked as a trainer at MTV Treubund Lüneburg and, among other things, looked after the club's men's team in the 2nd regional league.

In 2012 she became a coach at Girls Baskets Regio 38 in the Braunschweig / Wolfenbüttel area. In 2016 she led the club's U17s to win the German championship. At the same time, she was the head coach of the women's second division team Wolfpack Wolfenbüttel , which under her leadership reached the semi-finals of the championship round in 2015 and the runner-up in the 2nd Bundesliga North in 2016. In May 2016, she announced her departure from Lower Saxony and moved to Spain. Ballhaus worked there until 2018 at the women's second division club Baloncesto Aros León as an assistant trainer and also as a trainer in the youth sector.

In June 2018, returning from the women's Bundesliga, USC Eisvögel Freiburg announced Ballhaus' commitment as head coach.

National team

In 2017 Ballhaus worked as the national coach of the female U18 national team and led the selection to win the B European Championship. In 2018, she was the national coach for Germany's female U20 team.
