Hanna Nordholt (born June 1, 1958 in Schüttorf ) is a German screenwriter and director of short films.

Together with the graphic artist and filmmaker Fritz Steingrobe , she has been working in Hamburg since 1985 with her own film material, found footage and computer animation in order to create unusual image and sound compositions. The works deal with the relationship between science and art, society and media. Media theorists like Friedrich Kittler - especially with his book "Grammophon, Film, Typewriter" - have found their way into their films. They dealt with Paul Virilio's book “War and Cinema” in their film “The Third Window”.

In the 1990s, Hanna Nordholt studied visual communication at the HfbK Hamburg with Franz Winzentsen . After graduating, she worked as a lecturer and visiting professor for computer animation (2D & 3D) in the newly established Transmedia department.

Since 2006 she has curated the Labor Section of the Hamburg International Short Film Festival together with Fritz Steingrobe .

In 2003 and 2006, her films Yo Lo Vi and Drei Grazien were nominated for the German Short Film Award. The film Yo Lo Vi was published on the DVD compilation "History of German Animated Films" by Absolut Medien . Eight of her films, including Yo Lo Vi , Three Graces and Silicium - Schaltkreis 5 , were presented at the Oberhausen International Short Film Festival . In 2008 the Stuttgart International Animated Film Festival dedicated a retrospective to the Hamburg artist duo and appointed both of them to the festival juries.

In 2010, at the invitation of the German Institute for Animated Film DIAF , they took part in the group exhibition Autopsy of External Images .
