Hanne Treff (born May 14, 1887 in Annaberg ; † May 11, 1957 in Limbach-Oberfrohna ) was a local poet from the Ore Mountains.

Life

Hanne Treff came from the capital of the Upper Ore Mountains, Annaberg. In the Saxon city of Limbach, she became an active member of the local branch of the Erzgebirgsverein founded in 1883 and soon appeared in public with mostly cheerful, but also some contemplative songs, poems and plays. The texts were mostly in High German, but also in their own Ore Mountains dialect.

On the occasion of the Limbach Heimatfest for the 50th anniversary of the city, Hanne Treff created the stage play “From Once to Now” in 1933, which was performed publicly and was well received by contemporaries. This motivated her to work on more stage pieces. Already in the following year the cheerful play “Dr Waag ze Kraft un Schiehat” and in 1935 “Ben Weigelt-Schuster” followed in the Ore Mountains. In the same year, Hanne Treff represented the Ore Mountains in Berlin , where the National Socialists celebrated Ore Mountain Day . The radio also became aware of her, so she was invited to the radio exhibition. In 1938 Hanne Treff wrote the comedy “Haunted in Anna-Esche-Gässchen” and in 1939 the play “Das Glück im Quersack” (1939).

Her new play “In der Sommerfrisch ”, which was performed in 1939, was entirely in keeping with the spirit of the Strength through Joy Movement . Her piece, “Dicht ben Schlagboom”, was no longer performed in public due to the outbreak of World War II.

In 1940, the Friedrich Hofmeister Verlag in Leipzig published the brochure “Mei Liederstraißl” with twelve of the most beautiful songs by Hanne Treff. In addition to Friedlich un calm werd's (Obndlied) , her best-known song Mein Limbach was published as Heimatgesang in the arrangement by R. Wagner on a song postcard and published by JO Lange, Limbach / Sa. relocated. This postcard, which was provided with a figure of a knight, the slogan Der Heimat Ehre and the swastika, was numbered 1 on the front . Further song postcards were not published due to the war.

After the end of the war, as in the entire Erzgebirge, the Erzgebirgsverein did not re-establish itself. Hanne Treff was only able to get involved as a local poet within the framework of the Kulturbund for the democratic renewal of Germany . However, due to increasing poor eyesight, this became more and more difficult for her with increasing age. Most recently she was completely blind and died shortly before her 70th birthday.
