Hannelore Gadatsch

Hannelore Gadatsch (* 1. May 1941 in Berlin ) is a German television journalist and - presenter .

Life

After an internship at the SFB , she studied law and economics at the Free University of Berlin . From 1963 Gadatsch worked for the Saarländischer Rundfunk as a presenter and freelance reporter for politics and business.

In May 1966 she switched to Südwestfunk , where she was an editorial member of Report Baden-Baden from 1977 . Gadatsch was awarded the German Social Prize in 1978 for a report on a medical malpractice . In 1983 she was awarded the Development Policy Media Prize for a report credit report about the drought in Ethiopia , in 1986 the same price again for a post about Zwangsumsiedelungen in Ethiopia . 1984 and 85 moderated Gadatsch the tagesthemen , 1988 to focus shipments at 1 Plus . In 1992 she became the SWF representative for the newly founded channel ARTE . For her SWF documentary What people do to people - On the treatment of victims of torture in Berlin and Copenhagen , Gadatsch received the German Social Prize again in 1994. In 1997 the Togolese opposition newspaper Le Regard reported that Gadatsch had campaigned for the Eyadema government before the European Parliament and had received the Togolese Ordre du Mono . Gadatsch replied in the same paper almost 2 months later that foreign journalists were being treated generously and that their engagement before the European Parliament was in the interest of the Togolese people. In 1998 she lost to Horst Schättle in the general election at the SFB, along with four other competitors .

Gadatsch now lives in retirement in Baden-Baden and is a member of the Advisory Board of the Treatment Center for Torture Victims in Berlin .
