Hannes Krasser

Hannes Krasser (born June 19, 1921 in Vienna ; † January 30, 2018 there ) was an Austrian politician ( ÖVP ) and city councilor in Vienna.

Life

Hannes Krasser was born on June 19, 1921, the son of a lawyer in Vienna, where he grew up and went to the Vienna VI Federal High School after attending elementary school . In March 1939, he passed his Matura and then joined the Reich Labor Service (RAD) in order to meet the admission requirements for university studies at the time . After the beginning of the Second World War , however, he was transferred to the German Wehrmacht and was only able to start studying law in 1940 before he was drafted into the Wehrmacht again in 1942. After he had returned to Vienna from American captivity in the fall of 1945, he continued his studies and received his doctorate on July 19, 1946.

When he had completed his legal and legal practice, he passed his bar exam in January 1949 and followed in his father's footsteps from the beginning of February 1949 and worked as a freelance lawyer. At the same time, he was involved in the Austrian People's Party (ÖVP), especially in the field of training and education, and took on leading positions in the Austrian Workers' Union (ÖABB). Among other things, he was the deputy chairman of the Austrian federal state ÖABB, replacing Wilhelm Schmied, who held this position from the founding of the ÖABB in April 1945 until 1957.

Krasser was nominated on October 29, 1965 as a replacement for Josef Bauer in the Vienna State Parliament and City Council and was a member of the State Parliament and City Council until December 9, 1987. He was a representative of the first district of Vienna and the constituency of Vienna-Zentrum and worked primarily in the municipal council committees for municipal enterprises and welfare. On June 6, 1969, Krasser was elected to the state government Marek II as the executive city councilor for "various legal matters". In this capacity, he was also a member of the Slavik and Gratz I governments and left office on November 23, 1973.

Since 1940 he was a member of the Catholic student association KaV Norica Vienna in the ÖCV .
