Hannes Reiber

Hans "Hannes" Reiber (born February 25, 1926 in Münsingen ; † April 9, 1998 in Kornwestheim ), was a German sports educator and politician ( CDU ) in Kornwestheim.

Life

Hans Reiber worked as a teacher at Kornwestheim schools from 1956 to 1971, most recently at the Ernst Sigle Grammar School. He then became deputy head of the State Sports School in Ludwigsburg . Reiber was then responsible for expanding this state institute for teacher training to become a state sports academy. In 1975 he became director of the State Sports Academy for Teacher Training in Ludwigsburg and held this position until his retirement in 1991.

From 1975 to 1998 Reiber was a member of the Kornwestheim municipal council for the CDU parliamentary group. The health awareness of the citizens was an important concern to him and he was involved in projects such as the promotion of popular sport and general health care. As a means of transport, he preferred the bicycle.

From 1994 to 1998 Reiber campaigned for the interests of his fellow citizens as a member of the district council in the social and youth welfare committee. It was on his initiative that the Kornwestheim City Children's Sports School and the Kornwestheim sports clubs were founded in 1990. Reiber was also Vice President of the German Association of Sports Teachers.

In 2016, the Hannes-Reiber-Halle dedicated to ball sports was named after him.

Reiber is the father of the historian and music writer Joachim Reiber .
