Hanno Schmidt

Hanno Schmidt (born June 2, 1893 in Flensburg , † November 20, 1972 ) was a German journalist and politician ( CDU ). He was a member of the Schleswig-Holstein state parliament from 1954 to 1958 .

education and profession

Schmidt attended the high school in Flensburg. He graduated from high school and then studied law, economics and history in Heidelberg, Munich, Leipzig and Kiel. In 1920 he passed his first state examination in law and received his doctorate in Kiel. jur. He then did an 18-month traineeship training. In 1923 he switched to the press and became editor or chief editor of various newspapers in Mecklenburg, Thuringia and Schleswig-Holstein. From April 1946 to 1960 Schmidt was editor-in-chief of the Flensburger Tageblatt .

politics

Before 1933 Schmidt was a member of the German Democratic Party and the German State Party. In 1946 he joined the CDU. From March to October 1948 he was a member of the Bizonal Economic Council in Frankfurt and in the same year became councilor of the city of Flensburg. From 1950 to 1953 Schmidt was chairman of the border policy council for the Schleswig region. He was chairman of the Schleswig-Holstein Homeland Federation from 1952 to 1954.

In the state elections in 1954, Schmidt was elected in constituency 1 (Flensburg-West) as a direct candidate for the CDU in the Schleswig-Holstein state parliament; he was a member of parliament from October 11, 1954 to October 10, 1958.

From 1959 to 1961 Schmidt was mayor of Flensburg.

Schmidt was a member of the administrative board of Norddeutscher Rundfunk .
