Hanns Heinz Josten

Hanns Heinz Josten (born November 15, 1884 in Krefeld , † November 5, 1964 in Stuttgart ) was a German art historian .

Life

Hanns Heinz Josten was the son of the doctor Heinrich Josten and his wife Johanna, nee. Scheidges. After graduating from high school in Krefeld in 1904 and attending the Kunstgewerbeschule Krefeld, he studied art history and classical archeology in Bonn from the 1904/05 winter semester, in Strasbourg from the 1906 summer semester and in Leipzig in the 1908 summer semester . In December 1908 he received his doctorate from Max Semrau in Greifswald .

He was the main curator at the Württemberg State Museum in Stuttgart.
