The Hanomag 3/17 PS type N 53 is a small car that the Hanover-based company Hanomag presented in 1932 as the successor to the 3/16 PS type .
Compared to its predecessor, the car had become a little longer and wider and now offered four full seats, both in the sedan and in the convertible sedan. Two-seaters were no longer offered. The engine with 797 cc made 17 hp.
At the same time, the Hanomag 4/23 PS Type N 63 appeared , which replaced the 4/20 PS Type 63 model.
In the following year, the smaller car got a more powerful engine and was now called the Hanomag 3/18 PS Type 900 . Its 898 cm³ engine developed 18 hp.
Similarly, the 4/23 PS was released as the Hanomag 4/23 PS Type 11 . The car had become a little heavier and had wider tires. There was also a full convertible again.
Of all four types together, 12,950 vehicles were produced. In 1934 Hanomag Garant replaced the 4/23 PS model.
