The Hanomag Garant Type 11/4 is a small car that the Hanover-based company Hanomag presented in 1934 as the successor to the 4/23 HP type .
The car corresponded to the 4/23 hp Type 11, but had a 4-speed gearbox instead of the 3-speed gearbox. Its 1097 cc engine still made 23 hp. The full convertible was no longer offered.
Parallel to the guarantor, there was the Hanomag Kurier type 11K . The K stood for the box-profile low-profile frame, which replaced the previously common U-profile pressed steel frame. The courier had the engine of the Garant and was only delivered as a closed limousine.
In the following year, the Garant got a larger chassis, but kept its engine unchanged as the Hanomag Garant Type 11/35 . In contrast to its predecessor, it now had individually suspended front wheels supported by transverse springs. The car was only offered as a convertible sedan.
As Hanomag Garant Type 11/36 , it was manufactured unchanged in 1936, but now also as a sedan.
11,947 Garant and 10,414 Kurier were made by 1938. Then the Hanomag 1.3 liter replaced these models.
