Hanon Reznikov (born Howard Reznik , * 23. September 1950 in Brooklyn , New York ; † 3. May 2008 in New York City ) was an American theater - and film - actor , author , director and co-director of The Living Theater in New York City (with Judith Malina ) since Julian Beck's death in 1985. He was married to Judith Malina since 1988.

His first contact with the Living Theater was in 1968 when he saw a performance on New York's Lower East Side . At the time he was studying biophysics at Yale University . He joined the group in 1977 and wrote and directed many Living Theater productions including Anarchia , And Then The Heavens Closed , The Body of God , Capital Changes , Clearing The Streets , Code Orange Cantata , A Dream Of Water , Enigmas , The Rules of Civility , Utopia , and The Zero Method , many of which were played by the group in Germany, most recently they were on tour here in spring 2008.

On April 13, 2008, he suffered a stroke followed by pneumonia and was in a clinical coma to help his breathing. He died on May 3, 2008, at the age of 57.

The Living Theater only recently moved into a permanent theater in New York, after the group traveled to all the important arenas of the peace and globalization-critical movement and expressed the voices of the silent majority with large street shows and small workshops.

The effect in Germany can be seen above all in the Berliner Compagnie , but also in the effects on many theater festivals.
