Hans-Arne Stiksrud

Hans-Arne Stiksrud (born January 10, 1944 in Nordrach ; † September 12, 2005 in Marburg) was a German psychologist .

Life

Stiksrud studied psychology at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main until 1972 , where he also received his doctorate four years later . He worked as a research assistant at the Institute for Psychology and at the Institute for Educational Psychology in Frankfurt, then as a university assistant in the Department of Education and Training. Teaching Sciences / Psychology Department at the Free University of Berlin , where he completed his habilitation in 1988.

Since 1994, Stiksrud has been Professor of Educational Psychology at the Institute for Educational Research at the Karlsruhe University of Education , and for many years head of the Schools Department there.

The focus of his research was on youth research from a developmental perspective and, in later years, on the interpretation of the work of the psychoanalyst Erik Homburger Erikson . For example, he discovered that, contrary to what some previous biographers said, Erikson had graduated from high school.
