Hans-Dieter Haase (born May 6, 1955 in Norden ) is a German politician ( SPD ) and former member of the Lower Saxony state parliament (1998-2017).

education and profession

After graduating from high school in 1974 and the subsequent military service , Haase studied law in Frankfurt am Main . After the Second State Examination, he worked as a senior government councilor in Lower Saxony's financial administration until his election to the state parliament.

politics

Haase has been a member of the SPD since 1971. He is a member of the SPD party council, deputy chairman of the social democratic community for local politics in the Weser-Ems district and chairman of the SPD sub-district Emden . Since 1996 he has been councilor of the city of Emden and chairman of the local SPD parliamentary group. He had been a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament since 1998; he represented the constituency of Emden / north there . Until 2013 he was a member of the board of the SPD parliamentary group and since 2013 chairman of the subcommittee “Ports and Shipping”. Haase announced in September 2016 that he would not stand again in the election for the 18th Lower Saxony state parliament .

In addition, Haase is a member of ver.di , the Arbeiterwohlfahrt , the Socialist Youth of Germany - Die Falken and other clubs and associations.
