Hans-Georg Lindenstaedt

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Hans-Georg Lindenstaedt (born August 20, 1904 in Berlin ; † December 24, 1975 ) was a German table tennis player . He played in the German team at the TT World Championship, which was held for the first time in 1926 .

Lindenstaedt was a good tennis player. He became acquainted with table tennis in the early 1920s when Roman Najuch - a well-known tennis player at the time - organized table tennis tournaments in Richard Rau's (100m runner) sports house so that the tennis players could bridge the winter break. Here he met Curt Gerstmann and Daniel Prenn , with whom he formed the German team at the first TT World Championship in 1926.

Between 1926 and 1930 Lindenstaedt fought 33 international matches.

He lived in Berlin, where he played for the club TC Borussia in Berlin in 1902 and also worked as a sports journalist. For political reasons he emigrated to Switzerland in the 1930s. After the Second World War he returned to Berlin, where he ran a printing company. He was also press officer at TC Grunewald.
