Hans-Gerd Strube (born July 6, 1933 in Castrop-Rauxel ) is a German primary school director and politician of the CDU . From 1983 to 1994 he was a member of the Bundestag for the federal constituency of Mittelems (constituency 32) in Lower Saxony .

Life

Hans-Gerd Strube completed a teacher training course in history and politics at the University of Vechta near Osnabrück. He taught at the Bawinkel secondary school and at the Bramsche primary school (Lingen). Until 1983 he was the principal of the Bramsche primary school (Lingen). He was elected as a member of the German Bundestag with 60.0% in 1983, 54.8% in 1987 and 57.2% in 1990. In 1994, Hans-Gerd Strube voluntarily renounced running for the German Bundestag. In addition, between 1970 and 1983 he was also chairman of the CDU in the old district of Lingen and between 1972 and 1983, as a district member of the district of Emsland, also deputy district administrator.

As a member of the budget committee of the German Bundestag and later as chairman of the CDU / CSU parliamentary group and rapporteur for the largest individual households, labor and social affairs and defense, Hans-Gerd Strube had a considerable influence on the distribution of funds. In addition, he had good contacts with Federal Labor Minister Norbert Blüm (CDU).

The subject of care moved into the focus of his politics towards the end of his political career. In the context of the discussion about long-term care insurance , Hans-Gerd Strube suggested building nursing homes in all federal states. The Emsland district benefited from this political initiative with the nursing homes in Lathen, Haren, Bawinkel, Lengerich, Freren and Emsbüren. After Hamburg, the second geriatric unit in Germany was set up at the St. Bonifatius Hospital in Lingen . Thanks to the influence of Hans-Gerd Strubes, the Hedon Clinic was built in Lingen and the early rehabilitation facility was set up in the Ludmillenstift hospital in Meppen .

In order to implement innovative projects, Hans-Gerd Strube also participated in the creation of the program of action for the future forum of the Emsland district in 2004.

Until 2008, Hans-Gerd Strube was a volunteer as deputy chairman of the board of trustees of the St. Bonifatius Hospital in Lingen and of the advisory board of the St. Elisabeth House nursing home in Emsbüren .

For the Belo Horizonte project , he raised DM 60,000 to build a youth home in a poor district in Brazil. Immediately after German reunification, he organized entire shiploads of tents, jeeps, medical supplies and mobile operating rooms from the holdings of the GDR's National People's Army in order to ship them to Brazil for the “Belo Horizonte” project.

Hans-Gerd Strube is the holder of the Great Cross of Merit of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany and the Emsland Medal.

He lives in Bramsche ( Lingen ).
