Hans-Hubert Hatje (born April 14, 1950 in Hamburg ; † February 2, 2017 there ) was President of the Deutsche Lebens-Rettungs-Gesellschaft e. V. (DLRG) and honorary president of the Schleswig-Holstein regional association of the DLRG. He was a holder of the DLRG's mark of merit in gold (1985) and a diamond (2007), the medal of merit of the Federal Republic of Germany (2000) and the Federal Cross of Merit on ribbon (2007).

Life

In 1965 Hans-Hubert Hatje became a member of what was then the DLRG local group Harksheide . In 1978 he was elected regional youth warden of the DLRG regional association Schleswig-Holstein, 1986 vice-president and 1989 president of the regional association, which he led until 2010. In 2009 he was elected Vice President of the DLRG, and on October 18, 2013, he was unanimously elected President of the DLRG to succeed Klaus Wilkens . He held this position until his death.
