Hans-Jörg Vogl
Hans-Jörg Vogl (born April 19, 1956 in Dornbirn ) is an Austrian lawyer, expert for insurance law and an academically certified insurance salesman. He is the founder of Vogl Rechtsanwalt GmbH, maintains another law firm in Schaanwald , Liechtenstein and a telephone office in Vienna .
Life
Hans-Jörg Vogl was born the son of a migrant from ex-Yugoslavia and an Italian.
He received his doctorate in law at the age of 21, completed his legal practice and subsequently worked as a claims consultant for what was then Interunfall Versicherung in Vorarlberg. After one and a half years as a claims consultant, he completed a further training course in the USA and worked there at AIG for six months.
Back in Austria, he worked for what was then Interunfall Versicherung in Vienna. From there he was sent to Trieste for training purposes and to a bank there, after which he was again employed by Interunfall Versicherung in Vienna. After a steep career, he left Interunfall Versicherung in 1985 and opened what is now Vogl Rechtsanwalt GmbH in 1990, which has since specialized in representing injured parties against insurance companies, banks and financial service providers.
Work and activity
In the AMIS scandal, Vogl Rechtsanwalt GmbH represented 4,000 victims and obtained settlements for many of the victims. The process following the bankruptcy of the then largest Austrian financial service provider AMIS resulted in a conviction of the Republic of Austria for reasons of insufficient financial supervision and gained additional media attention due to the flight of the two AMIS managers to South America .
Vogl represented 600 people in a regional investment fraud scandal by ISB AG. In the last two decades Vogl Rechtsanwalt GmbH successfully asserted numerous claims against Liechtenstein life insurance companies, such as Vienna Life, Swiss Life, Prisma, Liechtenstein Life, Quantum, Aspecta and Generali, and obtained compensation for 700 policyholders.
In addition, Vogl took the VW - exhaust scandal more VW customer and obtained in one of the first convictions in Austria that VW had to buy a customer's car.
TV appearances
Vogl appears regularly in the ORF broadcast Bürgeranwalt with moderator Peter Resetarits . In the broadcast of June 12, 2013, he represented the wife of a motorcyclist, who was seriously injured as a passenger in the collision with a tractor suddenly turning left, against the tractor driver's liability insurance. On February 22, 2014, he argued that their insurance company had misguided a family who refused to pay the full damage caused by the fire in their home. On June 7, 2014, he discussed on the program with a lawyer at a bank, whose wrong advice on loan financing would have caused his clients to suffer a loss of 150,000 euros. Most recently, he represented a woman from Vorarlberg who was paraplegic after a riding accident and who only wanted to pay her insurance for a fraction of the sum insured.
