career

At the beginning of the review and the establishment of a new formation of the German national soccer team of the amateurs before the "Olympic qualifying games" in September 1963 against the representation of the DFV of the GDR, the then responsible DFB trainer Helmut Schön started with the international match on April 13, 1963 in Alassio against Italy in the 1963/64 series. After participating in various DFB courses and previous appointments to the national cup team of the Lower Rhine, coach Schön in Alassio trusted the final triangle with goalkeeper Manfred Martinschledde and the defender couple Hermann Michel and Fritsch von Rhenania Bottrop when restarting the German amateur selection on the defensive . But since the man from Bottrop signed a contract with Fortuna Düsseldorf for the Football Regionalliga West for the 1963/64 round, his membership in the amateur national team had already ended after his outing against Italy.

In the team of coach Kuno Klötzer , Fortuna Düsseldorf, the defender made his debut on November 17, 1963 in an away game against the Sportfreunde victories in the Regionalliga. His missions against the later champions Alemannia Aachen with the duels against their winger Herbert Gronen , his participation in the 0-0 against the Gladbacher offensive - with Rudolf Pöggeler , Herbert L Bäumen , Ulrich Kohn , Günter Netzer and Egon Milder - as well as his use in 3 : 1 away win at VfB Bottrop stood out in his first round at Fortuna Düsseldorf. In his second season, 1964/65, it was the two 1: 1 outgoing duels against the runner-up from Aachen - with their attackers Klostermann, Nacken, Martinelli, Glenski and Krieger -, his participation in the 5: 1 home win against Red Weiss Essen when he had to deal with the Essen right winger Herbert Weinberg and his use in the 4-0 home win against the later champions and Bundesliga promoted Borussia Mönchengladbach , when Fortuna with the final triangle Albert Görtz , Hans-Josef Hellingrath and Fritsch against the "Foal" attack with Limmern, Heynckes, Rupp , Netzer and Waddey was able to successfully claim. Fortuna Düsseldorf came third in 1964 and 1965, and Hans-Jürgen Fritsch made 29 appearances against the internal defender competition Häfner, Hellingrath, Hofmann, Klessa, Vigna and Zimmermann.

He returned to Bottrop and joined the black and white team from Jahnstadion , VfB Bottrop. In 1966/67 he celebrated the championship in the Association League Niederrhein with VfB . In the promotion round to Regionalliga West, Bottrop finished second behind Lüner SV and ahead of SC Fortuna Köln and rose. Together with his teammates Paul Baron, Alfred Kubitza, Karl-Otto Marquardt, Manfred Otta, Herbert Pawellek and Hans-Dieter Tipphauer , he tried in vain to keep the league in the 1967/68 regional league season with VfB Bottrop. Fritsch completed 30 league games and Bottrop rose again to the association league. This also ended his high-class career as a football player.
