Hans-Jürgen Klein (born May 21, 1952 in Recke (Westphalia) ) is a German politician and member of the Lower Saxony state parliament . He is married and has four kids.

education and profession

After completing secondary school, Klein attended the higher commercial school in Ibbenbüren . From 1970 to 1973 he trained as a municipal civil servant at the Westphalia-Lippe Regional Association in Münster . He then worked as an accident handler until 1976 and as an organizational clerk and deputy head of department at the University of Cologne until 1980 . After that he was a househusband.

Political party

Hans-Jürgen Klein has been a member of Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen since 1983 .

From 1986 to 1995 Klein worked as managing director of Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen in the Cuxhaven district association. He then worked in the Green parliamentary group in the Lower Saxony state parliament until 1998.

MP

From 1986 to 1998 Hans-Jürgen Klein was a member of the municipal council of the Sietland municipality and, until 2001, the municipal councilor of Steinau . He was also a member of the Cuxhaven district council between 1991 and 1998. He has been a member of the Lower Saxony State Parliament since 1998. Klein is budgetary spokesman for the parliamentary group of the Greens and a member of the Presidium of the Lower Saxony state parliament.

Klein is also a member of the assemblies of the Hamburg and Northwest Metropolitan Region .
