Hans-Jürgen Naumann (born April 1, 1944 ) was a soccer player in the GDR league for 1. FC Lokomotive Leipzig or its predecessors and played a game for the GDR national soccer team .

Naumann's football career began in the junior teams of the SC Rotation Leipzig , whose men's team had been represented in the top league of the GDR league since 1953, at that time as BSG Einheit Ost Leipzig . With the junior team of the SC Rotation he was GDR champion in 1961. After Naumann had played several games in the GDR junior national team from September 1961, he played his first games in the Leipzig league team in 1962 at the age of 18.

When Leipzig football was reorganized in 1963, Naumann was one of the players who were assigned to SC Leipzig as the future football performance center of the district capital. The first season of the new club was disappointing, however, because the local rival Chemie Leipzig , in which the eliminated from the two former Leipzig clubs played, surprisingly won the championship, while the SCL had to be content with third place. The cup victory that was within reach was also missed by a 2: 3 defeat against SC Aufbau Magdeburg . In this game, however, Naumann was not called up.

In 1967 Naumann and his team, which had since been restructured into 1. FC Lokomotive, achieved the best league ranking of his career with the runner-up. In the same year it was used again internationally. In qualifying for the Olympic football tournament, he was called up in the first two encounters against Greece and contributed one goal in each of the two 5-0 victories. Later, however, the GDR Olympic team was eliminated by Bulgaria, so that Naumann could not participate in the Olympics either. A year later he came to his only appearance in the senior team. In the encounter on February 2, 1968 against Czechoslovakia (2-2) he was used as the right runner .

In 1970 1. FC Lok reached the cup final again, but this time again Naumann was not part of the final line-up, which again ended with a defeat for Leipzig, 2-4 against FC Vorwärts Berlin . After the 1974/75 season, Naumann ended his career in Leipzig at the age of 33. Since 1962 he had played in 165 league games and scored 26 goals mostly as a midfielder. He has also played in 18 European Cups.

To round off his career, Naumann played in the 1975/76 season with the district league activist Borna and then until 1980 with the GDR league representative activist Espenhain , where he also temporarily acted as team captain. After finally saying goodbye to active football, he took over the training of Espenhainers for a few years in 1980.
