Hans-Joachim Dose

Hans-Joachim Dose (born December 28, 1956 in Hameln ) is a German lawyer. Since 2012 he has been the presiding judge at the German Federal Court of Justice .

He passed his Abitur in 1976 at the Schiller Gymnasium in Hameln . After completing his military service, he began studying law at the University of Göttingen in 1978 , where he passed the first state examination in 1983.

After completing his legal clerkship in the Lower Saxony judiciary, he passed his second state examination in 1986 in Hanover . He then worked as a research assistant at the University of Göttingen.

In October 1986 he was employed as a probationary judge in the Lower Saxony judiciary and subsequently worked for the Hanover Public Prosecutor , the Hanover Regional Court , the Einbeck District Court and the Göttingen Regional Court .

In August 1990 he was appointed judge at the local court in Einbeck, where he a. a. was active in family matters and guardianship matters. From 1995 to 1997 he was seconded to the Federal Court of Justice as a research assistant. There he was initially the u. a. responsible for family law XII. Assigned to the civil senate before he was employed in the presidential administration from mid-1996.

On January 1, 1998, he moved to the Higher Regional Court of Celle as a judge at the Higher Regional Court . There he initially worked in the 18th civil senate responsible for family matters. He later moved to the 20th civil senate and was also employed in the presidential administration with tasks relating to legislation, new control models such as cost-benefit accounting and budgeting, as well as judicial personnel.

On December 10, 2003 he was appointed judge at the Federal Court of Justice, where he a. responsible for family matters XII. Civil Senate is assigned. Since July 2009 he has been its deputy chairman. In June 2012 he was appointed chairman of the XII. Civil Senate appointed. Since 2017 he has been Deputy Chairman of the Federal Service Court .
