Hans-Joachim Lemnitzer

Hans-Joachim Lemnitzer (born August 1, 1931 in Arnsbach near Saalfeld ) is a former German foreign trade official and diplomat . He was a trade councilor in India and Poland and president of the GDR Chamber for Foreign Trade .

Life

Lemnitzer graduated from the foreign trade school in Plessow after attending elementary and high school . He graduated with a degree in economics and in 1954 worked in the GDR's foreign trade apparatus. In 1955 he worked as head of the trade policy department at the German domestic and foreign trade in wood and paper. From 1956 he worked for a short time, then head of the GDR commercial agency in Burma . From 1960 he was head of the cultural goods department in the Ministry for Foreign Trade and Internal German Trade and from 1963 head of the head office for light industry. From 1964 to 1969 he worked as a trade councilor at the GDR trade agency in New Delhi . From 1969 to 1971 he was general director of Polygraph Export GmbH and the foreign trade company LIMEX . From 1971 he acted as general director of the GDR-India trade group at the Chamber for Foreign Trade. He then worked as a trade councilor at the GDR embassy in Warsaw . From 1984 to 1990 he was President of the Chamber for Foreign Trade (successor to Otto Weitkus ).

Lemnitzer was a member of the SED .
