Hans-Joachim Mogalle (born August 28, 1959 in Halle (Saale) ) is a former German athlete who - starting for the German Democratic Republic (GDR) - came fifth at the European Indoor Championships in the 800-meter run in 1982 .

Mogalle finished fifth in the 1980 GDR championships. In 1981 and 1982 he won the title in the hall. At the European Indoor Championships in 1982 in Milan, he finished fifth. At the GDR outdoor championships in 1982 he finished behind Detlef Wagenknecht and Olaf Beyer . All three represented the GDR at the European Championships in Athens, where Mogalle missed the finals as seventh of the intermediate run. 1983 Mogalle again finished third in the GDR championships. After two weaker years, Mogalle returned to the track in 1986 and was GDR champion straight away. At the European Championships in Stuttgart, like four years earlier, he was eliminated in the intermediate run. In 1987 Mogalle won his third title in the hall.

Mogalle started for the SC Chemie Halle . He set his personal best with 1: 44.93 s in 1982 in Potsdam. With a height of 1.84 m, his competition weight was 69 kg.
