Hans-Joachim Nimtz
Hans-Joachim Nimtz (born October 10, 1928 in Konstanz , † November 12, 2010 in Kronach ) was a German historian and journalist.
Live and act
After graduating from high school in Heidelberg in 1948, Nimtz studied ancient and modern history as well as Latin at the Ruprecht-Karls-University there and history and political science at the University of Oxford . In 1954 he received his doctorate with the dissertation Roman domestic politics from the beginning of the conflict between Caesar and Pompey to the Battle of Mutina and then worked as a journalist and volunteer.
From 1959 he was a correspondent for German and German-language foreign newspapers as well as for Hessischer Rundfunk . He then went to London as a correspondent for the Frankfurter Neue Presse . In 1980 he became editor-in-chief of this newspaper, in 1986 head of Degussa's press department and from 1991 freelance journalist.
