Hans-Joachim Hajo Plötz (born February 26, 1944 in Berlin ) is a former German tennis player .

In addition to several national German championship titles in the 1960s and early 1970s, he had his greatest international success in 1967 when he reached the round of 16 at Wimbledon . In 1974 Hajo Plötz reached the final of the international German championships at Hamburg's Rothenbaum after beating Argentina's Guillermo Vilas in the semi-finals . In 1975 he was one of the few German tennis players to defeat Björn Borg in the round of 16 at the Toronto tournament . In that year he reached his best world ranking position with 65th place.

In 1976 he ended his career as a professional tennis player and opened a specialist tennis shop in Berlin. However, he continued to play tennis actively and managed to become national champions in all subsequent age groups, as well as European and world champions, both in singles and doubles. Hajo Plötz is currently the reigning German senior champion (men 65).
