Hans-Joachim Wank (* 1. January 1951 in loop ) is a former German football player in the defense . He played for BSG Energie Cottbus in the GDR league .

Career

Wank played in his youth from 1956 to 1971 with the BSG Lokomotive Runde. He then played for one year each with TSG Kraftwerk Boxberg and BSG activist Schwarze Pump . 1973 Wank was signed by the upper division BSG Energie Cottbus. He made his debut on August 18, 1973, when he was in the starting line -up in a 1-1 draw against FC Karl-Marx-Stadt on Matchday 1 . On the following day, Wank scored the goal against BSG Chemie Leipzig to make it 2-2, the game ended 3: 3. He was also a regular player in the 24 other league games of the 1973/74 season. In the FDGB Cup he reached the semifinals with the BSG. In the first leg against FC Carl Zeiss Jena they reached a 1-1 draw, but went down 7-1 in Jena. After relegation from the league to the second-rate GDR league, he was only used nine times in 1974/75 , and was used again in 20 games after being promoted again. In his last two seasons, Wank played 28 times for Cottbus before ending his career in 1978.
