Hans-Michael Wolffgang (born July 9, 1953 in Münster ) is a German legal scholar specializing in public law as a minor subject , as well as customs and consumption tax law .

Life

From 1973 to 1979 Hans-Michael Wolffgang studied law at the Westphalian Wilhelms University in Münster . In 1981 he completed a supplementary course at the University of Administrative Sciences in Speyer before he returned to Münster and worked as a research assistant at the Institute for Tax Law at the University of Münster from 1983 to 1984.

Wolffgang received his doctorate in 1986 while working as a legal advisor for the Steinfurt district (1985 to 1987). In 1987 he joined the federal finance administration before he worked from 1988 to 1994 as a lecturer and professor at the Münster Finance Department at the Federal University of Applied Sciences . At the same time he was a research assistant at the Federal Fiscal Court (1992 to 1994).

In 1995 Wolffgang received the reputation as a university professor of the Westphalian Wilhelms University of Münster with the teaching license of Public Law in the minor subject, particularly for economics. Wolffgang heads Department II of the Institute for Tax Law, specializing in customs and consumption tax law. Since 2005 he has been the scientific director of the Master of Customs Administration course at the University of Münster. He is a member of the board of the Center for Foreign Trade Law (ZAR) at the University of Münster and was Dean of the Law Faculty of the University of Münster from 2010 to 2012.

Since his student days, Wolffgang has been a member of the Catholic student association K.St.V. Markomannia Munster .

Wolffgang has been the founder, managing director and tax advisor in a medium-sized tax and legal advisory company since 2005 . He is married, has four children and lives in Münster.
