Hans-Peter Hammes

Hans-Peter Hammes (* 1955 ) is a German doctor and university lecturer .

Life

In 1974 Hammes graduated from high school Nepomucenum Coesfeld . He then studied human medicine at the Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität Münster until 1980 , where he also obtained his license to practice medicine and received his doctorate in 1983 . During his studies he was a member of the 1976 KDStV Sauerlandia Munster in CV . After completing his studies, he completed training in anesthesia and intensive care medicine at the Bundeswehr Hospital in Giessen. From 1987 to 1988 he worked in the Medical Clinic and Polyclinic, Center for Internal Medicine at the Justus Liebig University in Giessen . In 1991 he became a specialist in internal medicine . In 1996 he completed his habilitation in the field of internal medicine in the human medicine department of the Justus Liebig University. From February 2000 he was a university lecturer; In July 2000 Hammes was appointed professor (C3) for internal medicine and endocrinology at the Mannheim Medical Faculty of the University of Heidelberg . Hammes is the (founding) spokesman of the "Diabetes and Eye" working group of the German Diabetes Society, chairman of the "Diabetic Retinopathy" commission of the guidelines commission of the German Diabetes Society, advisor in the Diabetes Information System (DDG / DDU) and deputy chairman of the early detection initiative group diabetic eye diseases.
