Hans-Peter Hasenfratz

Hans-Peter Hasenfratz (born February 22, 1938 in Zurich ; † December 15, 2016 in Bochum ) was a Swiss Protestant theologian and religious phenomenologist .

Life

Hasenfratz studied Protestant theology at the University of Zurich , where Eduard Schweizer was his most important teacher. In 1974 he received his doctorate with the work The Speech of the Resurrection of Jesus Christ , in 1979 he obtained his habilitation with Die toten Lebenden: a religious-phenomenological study of social death in archaic societies . From 1985 to 2003 he was Professor of Religious Studies at the Protestant Theological Faculty of the Ruhr University Bochum .

He had been married to Pastor Ilse Hasenfratz-Frank since 1972. After her death in 2010 he married the theologian Mirjam Kübler. He had a son.
