Hans-Peter Missmahl

Hans-Peter Missmahl (also Missmahl ; * May 16, 1920 in Riedlingen ; † January 28, 2008 ) was a German internist . He is considered a pioneer in clinical and pathological amyloid research.

Life

The son of the surgeon Willy Missmahl and the dentist Maria Missmahl graduated from high school in Hinterzarten . He then studied medicine in Munich and Tübingen . In 1950 he was promoted to Dr. med. PhD . So then he received a broad internal training at the University Hospital Tübingen . He dealt with endoscopy at an early age and used the biopsy of internal organs for diagnostics before others . In 1958 , Hans-Peter Missmahl completed his habilitation in Tübingen. In the same year he introduced dialysis there after familiarizing himself with this method with Nils Alwall at Lund University .

In 1961 he was the first German clinician to be invited to Israel to work for three months at the Sheba Medical Center in Ramat Gan . 1963 Missmahl was in Tübingen associate professor appointed . Since 1969 he was chief physician at the Marienkrankenhaus Hamburg .
