Athletic career

In 1964/65 the 20-year-old striker Hans-Peter Sinn played his first two point games in the second-rate GDR league for the People's Police Sports Association SG Dynamo in Schwerin, Mecklenburg . He started a career that lasted more than 14 years, in which he played 279 GDR league games for SG Dynamo within 13 seasons and scored 90 goals. He was one of the goalscorers every season and was the Schwerin’s top scorer four times: 1966/67 with 9, 1967/68 with 15, 1972/73 with 14 and 1973/74 again with 9 goals. In 1975, Sinn was the relay winner in the GDR league with Dynamo Schwerin and took part in the promotion games to the GDR league . He was used in all eight games, but could only contribute one of the eight goals scored by the Dynamos. Out of five teams, the Schwerin only achieved fourth place and thus missed the promotion to the first class. From the 1965/66 season on, Sinn was always a regular and was used in the attack until the end. At the age of 32 he went into his last GDR league season, in which he only missed one game of 22 point games. Due to an injury, he then had to end his career as a competitive athlete.
