Dieter See
Dieter See (born December 21, 1939 ) is a former German soccer player. In the 1960s and 1970s he played for various sports communities in Schwerin, Mecklenburg .
Athletic career
In GDR-wide football, Dieter See appeared for the first time at the age of 22 as a striker for SC Traktor Schwerin in the third-class II GDR league . When the Second GDR League was discontinued in 1963, See continued his career with the SC tractor in the now third-class district league Schwerin . During the 1963/64 season, See switched to local rivals and GDR league club SG Dynamo Schwerin .
After he had completed four league games and scored two goals with the People's Police Sports Association in 1964 , See became a regular player in the following season and remained so for nine seasons. 1966/67 he joined the district league team Motor Schwerin for one season . He helped the team to the district championship, which failed in the promotion games to the GDR league as fifth among five teams. See then returned to SG Dynamo, where he played all 30 GDR league games in 1967/68 and was second best goalscorer for the second time after 1965 with 13 goals. Then he won the top scorer's crown four times in a row by 1972, with 14 goals each from 1969 to 1971, and in 1972 he scored twelve goals. In 1974, nine goals were enough for him to become the best dynamo shooter for the fifth time. The following season 1974/75 was Sees last season in the GDR league, he was used in only four matches in the 22 league games and scored no goal for the first time in his GDR league time. So he was only marginally involved in the GDR league relay victory of SG Dynamo. But he was fit in time for the promotion games to the GDR Oberliga and could be used in six of the eight matches. See did not score, however, and the team missed promotion as fifth out of five teams. Handicapped by injuries, See then had to end his career in higher-class football after playing 233 GDR league games within ten seasons and scoring 100 goals. Until 1978 he played with the 2nd team of SG Dynamo in the district league.
