On November 7, 1936, he worked there as an actor under the direction of Willi Bai in the first German television play, the winter aid sketch Das Schaukelpferd after Adolf Weber. In 1955 he moved to the SFB, where he worked as a full-time director until his retirement in 1975, and from 1962 also as an editor. In his work as a director, Bublitz staged television plays, adaptations of stage plays and radio plays exclusively for NWDR and SFB. On October 15, 1953, Bublitz also directed the production of the NWDR's first so-called “hands-on thriller”, Kurt Paqué's Sieveking case .
