Hans-Willi Syring

Hans-Willi Syring (born August 31, 1918 in Landau in the Palatinate ; † April 1, 1999 in Ulm ) was a German administrative lawyer and politician ( SPD / FDP ).

Life

Syring attended elementary school and secondary school in Ludwigshafen am Rhein , where he passed his Abitur in 1937. From 1939 to 1945 he served as an army officer in World War II and was seriously wounded several times. On July 20, 1944, he witnessed the assassination attempt on Adolf Hitler . In the subsequent purge he was transferred to the Eastern Front as a company commander.

After the end of the war he studied law in Erlangen . He was promoted to Dr. jur. obtained his doctorate and passed the second state examination in law in 1952. He then entered the Bavarian civil service.

He initially worked for the government of Swabia in Augsburg , later as a legal state official at various district offices. In 1957 he moved to local government as legal counsel for the city of Neu-Ulm . Before he retired, he was a legally qualified administrative director and head of the economic department.

After the state elections on November 20, 1966, he moved into the Bavarian state parliament as a member of the SPD , to which he was a member until November 1974. On April 4, 1972, he resigned from the SPD and remained non-affiliated for nine months. On January 17, 1973 he joined the FDP.
