Hans-Wolfgang Bächle

Hans-Wolfgang Bächle (born March 4, 1932 in Schwäbisch Gmünd ; † August 24, 2011 there ) was a German local researcher and professor in Schwäbisch Gmünd.

Life

After graduating from high school and doing various internships in various companies in Gmünd, he studied economics at the universities in Frankfurt , Bonn and Cologne , which he graduated as a commercial teacher. From 1956 to 1994 he worked at the commercial vocational school in Gmünd and also gave specialist courses in art history and economic geography at the city's vocational high schools .

In addition to his teaching activities, Bächle worked on books on the aristocratic families of Schwäbisch Gmünd and the surrounding area as well as on the history of the town. From 1975 to 1984 he was in charge of the Gmünder Heimatforum , which appeared as a supplement to the Rems-Zeitung, a local supplement with essays on art, building and local history topics, many of which came from the pen of Bächle. In 1972 he suggested that after the St. Veit cemetery chapel on Gmünder Johannisplatz, digging should take place. Another focus of his work was the Schwäbisch Gmünder industrial culture. In 2009 he was awarded the Kreissparkassenstiftung's award for research on local history for his research into local history.

Bächle was buried in the cemetery near St. Leonhard in Schwäbisch Gmünd.
