Hans Ackermann (born September 2, 1928 ) was a German football player in the GDR Oberliga . In the top division of the GDR football association , he played for SC progress Weissenfels .

One of the founding teams of the second-rate GDR league , which was newly introduced in GDR football in 1950 , was the company sports association (BSG) of the Weißenfelser Schuhwerkes, the BSG Schuhmetro Weißenfels. 22-year-old Hans Ackermann was one of their players. When in 1954/55 the team, which had meanwhile been converted into a sport club progress, fought for promotion to the GDR league, Ackermann was a regular player as a half-left striker and had played the majority of the point games. With his 18 goals he was the top scorer of his team.

By the end of the 1958 season, in the meantime the seasons had been changed to the calendar year rhythm, Ackermann was set as a half-left striker and was not missing in any point game. For the 1959 season, coach Herbert Worbs changed his storm and Ackermann moved to the half-right attacking side. This season, the SC progress achieved its best league result with 6th place, Ackermann had played all 26 point games for the fourth time in a row. Under the new coach Gerhard Gläser , the team experienced a deep crash in 1960, they remained without a win for the entire season and had to be relegated. Glasses had previously tried to stop the disaster by installing new players, and Ackermann also fell victim to these changes. After the 16th match day, the 32-year-old was banned from the top division squad and officially adopted in October 1960. By then he had played 120 point games between 1956 and 1960, not a single league game missed and scored 24 goals.

In the 1961 season, Ackermann joined the BSG Chemie Zeitz , which was relegated to the first GDR league together with progress Weissenfels. The rhythm of the schedule was changed again, back to summer-spring, so the season ran until June 1962. After two thirds of the season, it was clear that Weißenfels would also have difficulties staying up in the first GDR league. Therefore, the Weißenfelsers, who had meanwhile been downgraded to BSG Progress, caused Ackermann to return, who had been the top scorer in Zeitz with 12 goals. From March 1962 Ackermann played again for his former team. Only thanks to the fact that the first GDR league was expanded to two seasons prevented Weißenfels from having to relegate as the penultimate again. This fate befell the BSG, still with Ackermann in the squad, in 1966. As a result, Ackermann spent a season in the third-class Halle district league at the age of 38 , but helped the team to the district championship and an immediate return to the GDR league.
