Hans Albert Eduard Schallehn
Johann Albert Eduard Schallehn (born February 10, 1797 in Prötzel , † December 29, 1891 in Berlin ) was a German lawyer and politician . He was the mayor of Szczecin .
Life
During his law studies , Schallehn became a member of the Old Halleschen Burschenschaft Germania in 1817 and of the Guestphalia Halle fraternity in 1819 . In 1819 he was the spokesman for the fraternity. After his studies he worked in the administration of Szczecin, from 1832 as a syndic . From 1836 to 1846 he was second mayor in Szczecin and then first mayor until 1868. He retired as a Privy Councilor .
Honors
In Stettin, Schallehn Street was named after him until 1945 .
