Hans Ernst Otto Andresen , stage name Paul Krüger (born November 23, 1863 in Dresden , † January 12, 1927 in Hamburg ) was a German theater and silent film actor and theater director .

Life

Andresen was the second son of the director of the Royal Saxon Porcelain Manufactory in Meißen , Hofrat Emmerich Andresen . After graduating from secondary school, he attended the conservatory in Dresden, where Georg Senff-Georgi directed his dramatic lessons.

In 1890 Andresen found his first engagement as a volunteer at the Hoftheater in Mannheim, came to the City Theater in Basel after a year, then completed his one-year volunteer year with the 3rd Guards Regiment on foot, worked at the City Theater in Lodz from 1892 to 1893 , and from 1893 to 1893 in Olomouc and then joined the association of the court theater in Karlsruhe under the stage name "Paul Krüger" , where he did his best for six years in the field of youthful heroes and bon vivants, both in comedy and in modern drama. In 1899 he went to the German Theater in London . In the first decade of the 20th century, Andresen worked, for example, as an actor and director at the New Theater on Berlin's Schiffbauerdamm.

Hans Andresen spent his later years in Hamburg. Before the First World War , Carl Hagemann signed him to the Deutsche Schauspielhaus . Immediately after the war, Andresen was brought to Hamburg's Thalia Theater as an actor and director . From the beginning of October 1926 Andresen suffered from severe kidney disease from which he was no longer to recover. He died in Hamburg at the beginning of 1927.
