Hans Bachem
Hans Bachem (born January 2, 1897 in Cologne , † March 10, 1972 ) was a German organist and university professor .
Life
Bachem completed his music studies at the Cologne Conservatory with Friedrich Wilhelm Franke and Hermann Abendroth . He first worked in St. Boniface in Nippes. In 1921 and 1922 he played concert series in the Gürzenich with organ works by Johann Sebastian Bach and Max Reger . In 1923 he was appointed organist at Cologne Cathedral . In 1928 he was appointed professor at the University of Music in Cologne. After 1945 he was again the organist at the St Andreas Church in Cologne.
Hans Bachem was the teacher of Hermann Schroeder , Heinrich Weber and Josef Zimmermann . He was married and had a daughter, two grandchildren and a great-grandson.
