Hans Birkmeier

Hans Birkmeier (born November 14, 1930 - October 7, 2009 ) was a German bank manager.

Life

In 1955, Birkmeier joined the Munich cooperative bank house bank , which remained his professional place of activity throughout his life. He received his doctorate in 1961 from the University of Economics and Social Sciences in Nuremberg. In 1971 he was appointed to the bank's board of directors and was its spokesman from 1990 to 1996. After leaving the board of directors, he remained an honorary member of the supervisory board in an advisory capacity.

From 1999 to 2006 he was the managing director of Haus & Grund Bayern Verlag und Service GmbH and, in this role, successfully distributed the Bayerische Hausbesitzer-Zeitung . At the same time, he was a member of the main committee of the House and Landowners Association in Munich until his death.

In addition to his professional sphere of activity, Birkmeier made a significant contribution in the years after the Second World War to the establishment of an independent interest group for the self-employed medium-sized businesses in Bavaria in the Confederation of Self-Employed Persons . From 1971 to 2002 he was the state treasurer.
