Hans Conradi
Hans Robert Theodor Conradi (born November 18, 1886 in Dresden , Germany ; † February 8, 1956 in Munich ) was a German film production manager, production manager, film director , film editor , sound engineer , actor and pioneer of German sound films .
Life
Conradi completed a commercial apprenticeship and began his professional career as a theater actor in Potsdam , Eisenach and Hanover in 1910 . After the First World War he played in Gleiwitz , where he was also allowed to work as a director , and in Halberstadt . In 1922 Conradi came to Berlin to appear on the Barnowsky Theaters .
A little later, Hans Conradi switched to film, appeared in Das stolze Schweigen in 1925 and in Love in 1926 and worked as an editor. In late 1928 he also directed several short films. In 1929 he cut the first full-length German sound film Dich hab 'ich loved and was responsible for the sound engineering . In 1930 he worked as a sound engineer at Vienna, you city of songs , and from 1931 as a production manager at various production companies.
In the Third Reich , the man from Dresden rose to the position of production or production group leader, and from 1938 he worked in the service of Terra , UFA and Tobis . In 1942 Conradi went to occupied Paris for the German-controlled film company Continental Films SA. Continental boss Alfred Greven had him produce the German versions of French-language films as a dubbing director. In the summer of 1944 Conradi returned to Germany and was drafted.
After his release from captivity, Hans Conradi began working again as a dubbing director in 1947. In 1955 he returned to film production management for the Ernst Neubachs production company. Shortly afterwards, Hans Conradi died at the age of 70.
