Hans Dietrich Lindstedt

Hans Dietrich Lindstedt (born April 21, 1929 in Schönebeck (Elbe) , † April 10, 2008 in Chemnitz ) was a German writer and journalist .

Life

Lindstedt grew up on the Middle Rhine from 1935. In 1947 his parents moved to Magdeburg for family reasons, where Lindstedt took his Abitur in 1948. Not allowed to study by the GDR authorities, he attended a new teacher course from 1949 and worked as a teacher, language teacher and Kulturbund district secretary. In 1956 he became editor of the “Märkische Volksstimme” in Potsdam. In 1966 he completed a five-year correspondence course in journalism, and in 1968 he published his first book in an anthology . In 1977 he was dismissed without notice for political reasons. In 1981 he used the trip to the Federal Republic of Germany on the occasion of his mother's funeral to escape from the GDR. He settled in Mainz and became a freelance journalist. Lindstedt belonged to the writers 'association Free German Authors' Association (FDA) and was very active there for many years: In 1985, Lindstedt founded the Rhineland-Palatinate State Association of the FDA together with Volkmar von Zühlsdorff , of which he was honorary chairman at the federal level in the last years of his life. After the reunification of Germany, he also founded all East German FDA state associations. From 1997 to 2007 he was the founding chairman of the FDA regional association in Saxony. From 1997 until his death he lived with his wife Lilly Ulm-Lindstedt in their hometown Chemnitz.
