history

The FDA emerged from the "Group of Independent Writers in the VS" formed in spring 1972 when conservative members of the Bavarian State Association did not want the Association of German Writers (VDS) to join the IG Druck und Papier, which is considered to be left-wing , and were subject to the election of the board. The separation, initially limited to Bavaria and co-initiated by Otto Zierer , was followed on February 23, 1973 by the establishment in Munich at the federal level as a union-independent authors' association. In 1974, the FDA occupied on the board of VG Wort three of the six for the belles lettres provided courses, including Luis Trenker and the FDA-President Prince Hubertus zu Lowenstein .
